The department of History has existed since the inception of the college. It runs both the BA (Honours) and the BA (Programme) courses with a large number of students graduating every year. The Honours classes have separate sections for English and Hindi medium students. Possessing distinguished faculty members, the department attracts talented students every year. Shashwat, the History Society of the college, organizes a large number of academic and other extracurricular activities. The department encourages constant interface with the students. This enables the teachers to constantly monitor the progress of their students.
